As you can well imagine, the conversation at church today was centered around the earthquake in Hokkaido yesterday. A man told us of a time long ago, when a tsunami was coming. The village leader set off the alarm, but no one took it seriously. He proceeded to set his house on fire. Everyone from the village came to help put the fire out; therefore, the village was saved. I couldn’t help but think of the spiritual analogy. To what extent am I willing to sacrifice to see someone saved…
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
~2 Peter 3:9
