About

Welcome!  I’m so glad that you stopped in to visit today!  I am a homeschool teacher of three graduates, a language-studying missionary wife, mother, and grandmother living in the 10/40 window.  My husband and I have been married for over 35 years! We have lived in Japan for almost 25 of those years! I enjoy many things including quilting, sewing, reading, stamping, flower gardening, and Japanese doll-making.

The 10/40 window stands for the latitude and longitude that encompasses Asia, Russia, etc. that hasn’t been evangelized. The Lord has called my husband and me to Japan to work in our small part of this very large window!

The verse in my web address is a very special verse to me. 2 Corinthians 5:15 states, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” As a Christian wife, I must follow the leadership of my husband. When my husband told me he thought the Lord was calling us to Japan, I couldn’t say that He called me too. I knew I was to follow my husband’s leadership and that my place was with him. This is my calling. I asked the Lord to give me a verse that I could hang onto when the going got tough and I might doubt His calling on my life. This was the verse that He gave me. My life is not about me. It is all about the One who died for me! It is my daily prayer that I will live my life for Him.

One of my favorite old hymns is Drinking at the Spring of Living Water. It talks about drinking at the springs of living water in John 4:14. Psalm 1 tells us that the one who delights in God’s Word and meditates in it day and night will be like a tree planted by the rivers or streams of water. This kind of tree yields fruit. It has a leaf that doesn’t wither or fall. Whatever it does prospers. I want to be that tree and I would like to encourage you my faithful readers to be that tree. While meditating on this, it seemed fitting to change the name of my blog from Life in the 10/40 Window to Drinking at the Springs.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wow! I love your website, but even more, your ongoing Bible study!!! Is this a study that you are doing with other women or are you doing this for your personal study time? So simple. So lovely! So needed…focusing on God and who He is.

Be blessed in all that you do, today!

P.S. Loved the photos. Loved the photos of your home makeover! And, it looked like the cabin you stayed in for your vaca. time was just a *leeetle* tiny! Did it feel like home?

    1. I learned about the study several years ago at a ladies’ retreat. I started it then as a personal study. Later the book was published and it spurred me on. I hope to start it with a couple of ladies here soon.

The cabin was tiny, but cozy! We had a great time. Hated to leave.
