Favorite Things from A-Z

My favorite things from A-Z are:

A- Authors-Lori Wick, Jamie Langston Turner, Jan Karon
B- Books-My Bible, Jim Berg’s Changed Into His Image and Created For His Glory, Elizabeth George’s Loving God with All Your Mind, Phillip Keller’s A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, Lori Wick’s The Princess and Sophie’s Heart
C- Coffee-Decafe. I just can’t handle caffeine any more. I love Hazelnut and Kona.
D- Dessert-Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. I especially like warm Chocolate Pudding Cake with vanilla ice cream.  Too bad I can’t eat it any more due to allergies.
E- Elegant Object You Own-Crystal vase and teacup and saucer that I bought in Prague.
F- Flowers-Roses and Hyacinths.
G- Guests for Tea-I had a “Share Your Treasure” tea in the USA with several friends. It was wonderful. Everyone brought something to show and tell. We laughed and cried together. I will never forget it.
H- Home-I like old homes with lots of room and character. I always see the potential when walking through an old house. I also like big yards. Our former house in the USA has a big lot with a creek in the back and lots of azaleas. I was sold on it before I even saw the inside!
I- Inspirational Authors-Jim Berg, Jerry Bridges, Elizabeth George
J- Jane Austen book-I’m reading my first, Pride and Prejudice.  Based on the movies, I would have to say Pride and Prejudice.
K- Kitchen Gadget-That’s hard to say. I know I couldn’t live without my crockpot. I use it so often that it always sets on the counter. In fact, there is something cooking in it right now.
L- Laundry Help-Spray and Wash Stain Stick. It works like a dream!
M- Musical-That’s hard to say. I suppose it would be Holiday Inn. I watch it every year around Christmas. I also love the Sound of Music. I especially enjoy this since I had the privilege of taking the tour in Austria and visited many of the places in the movie.
N- Naptime-I used to take one every afternoon with my kids. Now that they are older, I take one when I feel like I am going to fall over if I don’t. I used to take one every Sunday afternoon, but our schedule in Japan is different and we don’t finish up until 4:00. When I take one then, I have trouble going to sleep at night. I sure do miss those naps.
O- Organizing Tip-A place for everything and everything in its place.
P- Pride & Prejudice Character-Elizabeth
Q- Quote-“It is imperative that we know the voice of the Shepherd and learn to follow Him when He speaks. We must be obedient, no matter what He says to us; it may even mean our life.” ~Darlene Deibler Rose, Evidence Not Seen
R- Recipe-My mother’s meatloaf.
S- Scent-Vanilla, Gardenias, Hyacinths, Roses, and sheets after they have hung on the clothespoles to dry.
T- Tea-Stash’s Decafe Chocolate Hazelnut, The Republic of Tea’s Good Hope Vanilla red tea
U- Underwater Creature-Dolphins
V- Voyage You’ve Taken-None unless you count a plane ride across the ocean.
W- Water Feature; Lake, Creek, Ocean, etc.-I love the water. It draws me. The ocean is so awesome and full of power with the waves crashing at your feet. I love a creek trickling by. Perhaps my favorite is the lake at Blackwater Falls in Davis, WV. We have visited there with family for several vacations. In the evening, the lake is still and the mist rises and if you are quiet you just might see a beaver swimming across the lake with a branch in his mouth. 🙂
X- X-tra Special Treat for Yourself-In Japan, it is a coffee treat from Starbucks.  In the USA, it is a trip to a tea room with a friend.
Y- Something About YOU!-I like to study my Bible and make things with my hands.
Z- Zoo Animal-White tigers
