A New Tool

I’ve been plodding my way through, trying to memorize Ephesians.  I am about half-way through chapter two.  When I think about how long it took me to get there, I get discouraged.  Part of the problem is that I’m not really understanding some of what I am trying to memorize.  My Sunday School is using the Wiersbe BE commentary series when we go through a specific book of the Bible.  It dawned on me one day as I was asking the Lord for that “spirit of wisdom and revelation” that I should get the one for Ephesians.  Be Rich (Ephesians): Gaining the Things That Money Can’t Buy has been so helpful!!!!  I wish I had thought of it earlier.  Here are a few quotes for you to think about today:

“We inherit the wealth by faith and invest the wealth by works.  Without this balance, our spiritual riches do us no good.”

“…election is always unto something.  It is a privilege that carries a great responsibility.”

“…the better we know Him, the more satisfying our spiritual lives will be.”

Let’s pray for one another the words of Ephesians 1:17-23.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
