Sunday Meditations

My God does not want me to worry.

Psalm 37:1,7, “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity…Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”

Psalm 55:22, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

Psalm 94:19, “In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”

Matthew 6:25, 34, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?…Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

I Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Matthew 10:41-42, “[Kim, Kim,] thou art careful and troubled about many things:  But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Father, help me to chose that good part…

  1. Fret not, don’t be anxious, take no thought for your life, pray w/thanksgiving, cast our cares . . . you know , taking those words to heart presents an entirely different picture, doesn’t it? It means faith (trust in and believing God). Thank you, enjoyed thinking about this deeper. It accents the study I’m doing (MacDonald’s Lord Change My Attitude).
