I should have done this a loooonnnnnggggg time ago! This summer, before my return to the states, I made a cotton slip to wear on those long, hot days of summer. It was very easy. It’s so comfortable on those hot sticky days.
I used a basic a-line skirt pattern that is cut on the bias and took out a little of the fullness.
I finished it off with elastic at the waist and eyelet lace at the bottom.
As Martha Stewart would say, “It’s a GOOD thing!”
What a lovely job you made of your slip. This is exactly what I need to do. My nylon slips give me grief with the static. The lace is a beautiful finishing touch.
This sounds like a wonderful idea!
What a great idea and it looks great. Love the quilt just under it too!
I like this idea. Slips are hard to find….especially for my little granddaughters. I have had to sew them, adjusting a dress pattern. I find that people just don’t wear slips like we did growing up.
