From the Books

There has a lot been going on in my part of the world and it has pretty much wiped me out!  I’ve spent some time resting and reading.  It’s been a blessing.  Here are a couple of things that I would like share with you.

“Ella’s prescription for contentment:

~Never allow yourself to complain about anything-not even the weather.

~Never picture yourself in any other circumstances or someplace else.

~Never compare your lot with another’s.

~Never allow yourself to wish this or that had been otherwise.

~Never dwell on tomorrow-remember that [tomorrow] is God’s, not ours.”

~pg. 12

“O God whose will conquers all, There is no comfort in anything apart from enjoying Thee and being engaged in thy service; Thou art All in all, and all enjoyments are what to me thou makest them, and no more.” ~pg. 4

“Subdue in me the love of sin, Let me know the need of renovation as well as of forgiveness, in order to serve and enjoy thee for ever.” ~pg. 5
