Sunday Meditations

We sang “It is Well” in the Japanese service this morning.  I wanted to read the lyrics in English, so did a lyric search.  I was surprised to see two verses that I have never read before.  They were such a blessing to me.  I’m posting it today to encourage you in your Lord’s Day meditations.

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:

If Jordan above me shall roll,

No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life

Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

*****

But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,

The sky, not the grave, is our goal;

Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!

Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

    Thank you for sharing this! I had never heard of other verses. I will pass this onto our music director, too.

    I have been reading your posts about how cold it is there. I hope it warms up for you soon. We have had such a mild winter here in SC. I have had daffodils blooming for three weeks already, and I think I wore a winter coat to church once! Crazy!
