Today was a bitter cold and extremely windy day. With no central heat, our kerosene heaters are working double time. Our house has a lot of “ventilation” it in. Doors and window are rattling throughout. I knew things were bad when I could hardly get in the car because the wind was fighting against me. When I watched the news tonight, I heard about several accidents in northern Honshu because of the wind. I was thankful that nothing serious happened in our area. I do wish we would get some of that northern snow in our direction. 🙂
Life abroad has some unique challenges. While adjusting to my life abroad, I have found that my dearest friend is the Lord. He goes before me and He knows the way that I take. When I am lost, He helps me find my way. When I am lonely, He cheers me. When I need understanding, He gives me wisdom. I could not this do without Him. I used to think that missionaries were super saints, until I became one. Now I know better. I am no different than you, the reader. I have the same struggles and human frailty as every other human being. I have found that God gives grace to do whatever it is He wants you do, whether it is collecting garbage or serving Him in a foreign land. Life is all about Him and what He wants.
